Britt and Chad travel to Chicago where Doc is hospitalized. Meanwhile, back in Wyoming, a mysterious visitor takes a room at Millie's Hotel, and a young woman is the sole survivor of an Indian attack on a raft traveling the Powder River. Doc wants to join Britt and Dawes in their search for those who have been attacking boats and homesteads along the river. The railroad arrives in Clearmont, bringing one thousand workers and trouble.
